Monday!

Since I've joined the gym I've gained about 5 pounds. Sounds about typical for my life! I plan to keep going at least 6 days a week for a month. At the end of the month I'll decide what I want to do from there. I think I might take tonight off, we'll see. Monday's are hectic schedules for the kids and I spend most of my evening driving them around. Then the girls and I have a few shows we like to watch Monday nights so we've been cuddling up on my bed and watching TV together, while hubby watches football on the big TV down stairs. (That reminds me I'm supposed to pick up another HD cable box! Better get that written down so it happens.) So, anyway- I'll either stay home and have a girls night or go plug in and watch TV at the gym. I'm leaning toward staying home though!

Here's a link to a story I noticed online today. http://health.msn.com/blogs/get-back-in-shape-post.aspx?post=1317085&GT1=31036 It made me feel a little less stupid for writing down what I was doing yesterday at the gym. I did track weights and reps etc but I don't have that paper with me now. I did upper body- mainly arms- and they are sore today. I also rode 5 miles on the stationary bike, fat burner routine. Then I went to Walmart and bought a 40lb bag of dog food that is still in my car. =)

October is winding up so I need to get very serious about my job. I won't be logging into Facebook from work. I actually have been toying with the idea of deleting Facebook and MySpace since about July. I very rarely log into MySpace so that wouldn't be so bad really. I decided to keep them for a few reasons- stay in touch with old friends, monitor my children's online activity, and because of the group I created on Facebook. That's a control issue for me...if I go away the group will remain but I'll no longer be in control of it!! That's horrible huh? LOL That ensures I won't be deleting FB until at least August 2010- after the class reunion. I just want to stop logging in as much and the only way I know how to do that is to quit cold turkey for awhile. Easier said than done, I'm sure!! Maybe I should go play that Marble game one last time... :-)

  1. Surely there are other people writing down what they are doing in the gym? Nearly everyone does it at my gym, so it's no biggy. My entry today shows the value in it...big changes since last year, that I wouldn't have remembered without it written down. :)

Remember....it's 80% diet, 20% exercise. When we were in our 20's we could drop weight by adding exercise. In our 30's and 40's (especially the 40's), diet becomes critical. I dare say in our 40's (I know you're not there yet), it's 90% diet, 10% exercise. Something to look forward to. :) lol
